The Judiciary Police (PJ) received a report from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) yesterday at 4:34 p.m. that a woman suspected of having burnt charcoal was found dead in her flat on Rua de Ma Kau Seak, according to a PJ statement.
The victim was a 52-year-old local woman.
The statement said that when the victim’s family members returned to the flat yesterday afternoon, they discovered that the victim had locked herself in her room and received no response when they knocked on the door. They used tools to pry open the door and subsequently found the deceased lying on the bed. A vessel with burning charcoal was found on the floor next to the bed, and a suicide note was found at the scene.
No suspicious injuries were found on the body, and the exact cause of her death has yet to be confirmed by an official autopsy.
