Young people taking part in the Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) said yesterday they are upbeat about opportunities that the event is offering this year, especially as it puts the spotlight on Macau’s role as a business-service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs).

Having struck their first deal at MIF last year providing on-site translation services to an exhibitor and then successfully helped a company from Zhoushan city in Zhejiang province and a company from East Timor sign a fisheries co-operation agreement, with support from both governments, during the 5th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries attended by Premier Li Keqiang last week, things are looking good for project managers Tony Hoi Tong Seng, Stephen Wong Chi Choi and their team at the local Perfeiçao Company Limited.

The company, which provides services in translation, Portugal’s “Golden Visa” applications, business tourism, exhibitions, fairs and investment consulting, is presenting its projects at the fair’s Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) products and services exhibition.
