The government announced yesterday that it has launched a public tender for the granting of a 60-month lease of 12 shops at Anim’Arte Nam Van, a lakeside commercial area on the side of Nam Van Lake aiming to promote cultural and arts activities.

The Cultural Development Fund made the announcement in a statement yesterday.

Potential bidders are required to submit their quotations by July 17. The fund will unseal the submitted bids the next day.

According to the statement, the public tender only accepts submissions from companies, which means that individual entrepreneurs are not accepted.

The tender has a minimum monthly rental of 180,000 patacas for the 12 shops, the statement said, which underlined that the leaseholder can sublet “some of the shops” with the fund’s agreement.

In addition to operating the 12 shops and carrying out maintenance there, according to the statement, the leaseholder will also be required to maintain public security and carry out cleaning and facility maintenance at the lakeside areas of Anim’Arte Nam Van.

According to the statement, bidders for the leasehold are required to submit a proposal detailing how they will promote cultural and arts activities at Anim’Arte Nam Van.

According to the statement, the leaseholder will be required to organise at least four outdoor cultural performances, fairs, carnivals, or festive activities at the lakeside areas every year.

In addition, the leaseholder will also be required to change the drawings on the area’s graffiti wall at least once a year.
