Two post offices in the peninsula’s northern district will “merge” into one later this month, when the post office in Iao Hon district will close for good, while the post office in Mong Ha district will relocate to a nearby location, the Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) has announced.

According to a CTT statement on Friday, the Mong Ha Post Office, which is currently located on the first floor of the Mong Sin social housing estate on Avenida de Venceslau de Morais, will be relocated to the ground floor of the adjacent Mong Tak social housing estate on June 19.

The office hours of the new Mong Ha Post Office will remain unchanged, namely between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The telephone number will also remain unchanged, 2831 7292.

In addition, according to the statement, the Hac Sa Wan (Areia Preta) Post Office, which is located on Rua Um do Bairro Iao Hon, will cease to open on June 17, which means that it will remain open until June 16 afternoon.

Areia Preta district is known as Hac Sa Wan in Cantonese.

The Hac Sa Wan Post Office is currently open between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Friday’s statement announced the “merger” of the Hac Sa Wan Post Office and the Mong Ha Post Office.

CTT officials have said that the new Mong Ha Post Office will be bigger than the current one.

The statement also said that those who have been informed to collect their postal items at the Hac Sa Wan Post Office will have to visit the Mong Ha Post Office to collect them, after the former’s closure.
