Local artist Joan Lam Wai I is displaying her paintings in an exhibition titled “A Drop In The Ocean” at the Creative Macau Gallery on the ground floor of the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) until Saturday.
A statement from the gallery noted that most people nowadays are “heavily reliant” on their electronic devices, being unable to attend to their own surroundings and “explore nature by heart”.
Lam, who is dedicated to developing her works through different media, has created most of her artworks at the exhibition using her personal observations and emotions, the statement said, which pointed out that one can observe “tiny things” as well as feel what nature offers with one’s heart. “Everything exists for a reason, even a drop in the ocean”, the statement underlined.
Lam studied arts in Granada in Spain for several years, during which she was also invited to join an arts exchange programme in Poland. She has held exhibitions in both countries, as well as in Costa Rica and Macau, among others, according to the statement.
The gallery is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, except Sundays and public holidays. More information can be found at www.creativemacau.org.mo
