Health Bureau (SSM) Director Lei Chin Ion said yesterday that the government was still studying whether to keep its original proposal to impose a blanket smoking ban on all casino premises in the final version of anti-tobacco amendment bill.
Lei made the remarks when speaking to reporters after attending a closed-door meeting of the legislature’s 2nd Standing Committee, which is reviewing the Tobacco Prevention and Control Law’s amendment bill article-by-article.
The outline of the bill was passed by a plenum in July last year. The bill proposes a blanket smoking ban on all casino premises.
