The local observatory predicted yesterday the maximum daytime temperature along the coast of Guangdong in the coming days will reach 32 to 34 degrees Celsius, with some parts of Macau expected to be “very hot” during the day.

Under the influence of a southwestern monsoon, the weather station forecast occasional showers in the following days to lower the temperature.

According to a statement by the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG), a monsoon trough will develop over the South China Sea near the Philippines next week, with a “certain” chance of developing into a low-pressure area.

With the approach of the monsoon trough, the statement said, clouds and showers are expected to increase in Macau in the middle and late next week.
