177 COVID-19 infections recorded on Monday, 276.6 pct up from Sunday

Macau recorded 177 COVID-19 infections on Monday, an increase of 276.6 percent from the 47 infections reported on Sunday, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, one new COVID-19 patient was admitted to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre on Monday for treatment.

Consequently, a total of 197 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to treatment facilities between May 1 and June 26.

The local government has underlined that Macau’s current peak of COVID-19 infections, which started early last month, is now easing.

Macau has not recorded any COVID-19 fatalities for eight consecutive days, from June 19 to 26, after the latest COVID-19 fatality was recorded on June 18.

Macau’s official COVID-19 death toll currently stands at 124.
