Registration for the Macau Grand Prix (MGP) 70th Anniversary Memories Collection started yesterday, encouraging residents to participate in “sharing collective memories and passing on the Grand Prix’s cultural heritage” according to a statement by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
The MGTO has organised the competition, the statement noted, which invites Macau residents aged at least 18 to submit items related to the Macau Grand Prix from its inception in 1954 to last year’s event.
Four types of items can be submitted: admission tickets, posters, stamps, and commemorative items (such as commemorative coins, commemorative banknotes or commemorative ornaments), according to the statement.
The bureau announced that the 15 top-scoring participants in each category (60 winners in total) will receive a prize of 1,000 patacas each, 2 admission tickets to the Macau Grand Prix Museum and some souvenirs.
Running until September 8, participants must submit their items during office hours to the Macau Grand Prix Museum at 431 Rua de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, the statement noted. Each participant may submit up to five items, each in a separate envelope, and each item must havethe completed registration form, the bureau added.
According to the bureau, MGTO will exhibit the award-winning items in public and return them to the participants after the event is over. The statement said that all submitted items will be scanned and photographed for the MGP records and kept while in the museum’s care.
Winners of the event will be notified by MGTO and their names will be announced, at a date to be decided later, on the Macau Grand Prix Museum website, the statement pointed out.
