The government should establish a mechanism that would link the Social Security Fund (FSS) dues to employees’ income, panellist Dicky Lai Wai Leung proposed at yesterday’ Macau Forum.
The forum, which is held every Sunday in Areia Preta Park, is a weekly public debate programme run by government-owned broadcaster TDM. About a dozen audience members attended yesterday’s forum.
The forum was about the fund’s announcement last week that the monthly dues paid by employers and employees will be increased from the current 45 patacas to 90 patacas from the beginning of next year, with the ratio that both sides contribute remaining unchanged at 1:2.
