Macau recorded 73 COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, 20 down from the 93 infections reported on Tuesday, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, a COVID-19 patient was admitted to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre on Wednesday for treatment.
Consequently, a total of 209 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to treatment facilities between May 1 and July 5.
Macau has not recorded any COVID-19 fatalities for 17 consecutive days, from June 19 to July 5, after the latest COVID-19 fatality was recorded on June 18.
Macau’s official COVID-19 death toll currently stands at 124.
99.9 pct jab rate
Meanwhile, as of Monday a total of 680,272 people in Macau had been inoculated against COVID-19, i.e., having received at least one jab, representing a vaccination rate of 99.9 percent, according to the website of the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 vaccination programme.
According to the website, 643,907 of them had received at least two COVID-19 jabs.
Currently, the Health Bureau only updates its COVID-19 vaccination data once a month. More specifically, the data is updated on the first working day of each month.
A total of 399,941 people had received at least three COVID-19 jabs, meaning that 59.4 percent of the population had received their booster shots, according to the website.
According to the website, 94,889 people had received at least four COVID-19 jabs as of Monday, representing 14.1 percent of the population.
Macau currently has a population of around 673,000.
Moreover, a total of 1,700,544 COVID-19 doses had been administered in Macau as of Monday, comprising 1,313,487 Sinopharm inactivated jabs and 387,057 BioNTech mRNA shots, according to the website.
