The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is slated to start hosting the four-day “Experience Macao Unlimited” Mega Roadshow in the South Korean capital, Seoul, this Friday, according to an MGTO statement yesterday.
The statement noted that the roadshow is set to take place in Times Square in Seoul and themed around “board games” as its design concept while also incorporating Macau’s tourism attractions. The exhibition space, according to the statement, is centred around the “MOMA” logo, meaning “Moment of Macao”.
The event will feature interactive games, glimpses of tourism facilities, new elements and special offers on various tourism products presented by Macau’s six integrated resorts, according to the statement.
The statement said that the event follows MGTO’s “Macao•Korea Travel Trade Networking Seminar” slated for tomorrow, where a delegation comprising members of Macau’s travel trade industry will travel with MGTO to South Korea for the seminar. The statement said that both events aim to familiarise South Koreans and the country’s tourism sector with Macau’s offers and new “tourism+” elements.
Moreover, behind Times Square’s front entrance, “Experience Macao Unlimited•See you in Macao” is being projected on the Giant Art Canvas LED screen, while advertisements are played on a loop on the outdoor double-sided screen near South Korea’s busiest highway, Olympic-daero, according to the statement.
MGTO’s representative in South Korea also partners with Joongang Tongkang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) to produce two episodes on Macau as a great destination on the popular travel and variety show, “Talk Pawon 25 o’clock”, the statement said, adding that South Korean comedian Kim Sook has been invited to Macau for filming.
The first episode was released on Monday, while the second one is slated for July 17. The statement said that the content revolves around family travel to Macau and highlights the city as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, the statement added.
Macau welcomed over 740,000 visitor arrivals from South Korea in pre-pandemic 2019, ranking them as the city’s largest foreign visitor market, according to the statement.
