Indonesian-born singer-songwriter Nicole “NIKI” Zefanya is slated to hold a concert at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena on September 30, according to a statement by Sands China on behalf of the organisers earlier this week.
The upcoming concert is co-organised by The Venetian Macao and Live Nation Entertainment, which is a live entertainment company comprising global market leaders Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, and Live Nation Media & Sponsorship, according to the statement.
The statement noted that the gig will see the singer bring her Nicole World Tour to the city, and feature performances from her sophomore album “Nicole”.
NIKI made her breakthrough with the EP Zephyr in 2018 and “has made a powerful imprint on the pop scene”, garnering a global fan base and becoming the first Indonesian artist ever to perform at Coachella in California, the statement noted.
The statement said that after delivering her critically acclaimed debut album MOONCHILD, the Los Angeles-based artist “felt compelled to completely reexamine her artistic process”, revisiting the indie-folk songs she created in high school. This then led to her sophomore album, which features songs written entirely by her.
The album’s first half consists of new songs, while its latter half features her favourite tracks from nzee24, her YouTube channel that led to triumphs such as opening for American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift when she was 15 years old, according to the statement. With her album’s title referencing her birth name, Nicole unfolds in a coming-of-age narrative centred on her first heartbreak.
The statement noted that tickets will be sold starting from 12 noon on July 27 on www.cotaiticketing.com. Live Nation members can secure their tickets first during the exclusive pre-sale on July 26. Tickets for the concert range from 580 to 980 patacas/Hong Kong dollars.
