The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Friday that its Review of Culture (RC) International Edition Issue No.71 has been released, featuring a dossier of five articles on the theory, principles and philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
The statement noted that the articles are from the Spring Conferences 2022 in partnership with the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre in Lisbon.
Studies connecting Sinology and TCM, its therapeutic and philosophical dimensions, the integration of diagnosis and regulations of TCM by the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the scientific presentation and beneficial therapeutic effects of three species of ginseng are brought together in the dossier, according to the statement.
The section ends with an article about a cooperation programme between mainland China and Portugal called Scimat, which the statement added outlines “rapprochement between East and West in the scientific and philosophical fields”.
Meanwhile, the Macau Studies section features literary criticism on The Bewitching Braid by Macanese writer Henrique de Senna Fernandes and The Monkey King by Hong Kong-born British novelist Timothy Mo (毛翔青), while a detailed study of the Canton System’s foundation in the 17th century and trade regulation in the region are featured in the historiographical field, the statement pointed out.
