The government is hosting various types of events covering a variety of areas for members of the public in July.

DSEDJ research programmes

Co-hosted by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) and Association of Macao Tourist Agents, the programme was launched at the beginning of this month, providing 7,000 places for students and their parents from different regions in diverse types of research programmes such as language, medicine, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-tech, according to a statement by the bureau yesterday.

By tapping into the huge potential of Macau becoming an education hub, the programme aims, through a diversified and professional education and learning experience, to combine different tourism industry supporting projects, the bureau pointed out.

UM summer courses

The University of Macau (UM) said in a statement yesterday that it is offering a variety of summer study and training courses, covering integrated circuits, smart cities, medicine and health sciences, AI and big data, cyberspace security, economics and management, languages, and other fields.

The target students are undergraduates, outstanding university students, language learners and university teachers and students who intend to apply for master’s or doctoral programmes. In this way, they can deepen their understanding of relevant subject areas, broaden their horizons and enhance their competitiveness, the UM statement said.

IAM animal protection activities

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement yesterday that it will be working with local animal protection groups to organise a “Preparatory Class on Pet Adoption – Pet Information Stations” on Saturday in Flower City Garden to disseminate information on pet ownership and owner responsibility through games and exhibitions.
