The Judiciary Police (PJ) announced an online scam yesterday in which a woman, who had sent nude photos of herself to a man whom she met on a mobile messaging app, was cheated out of 99,300 yuan (117,280 patacas).
A PJ spokeswoman said the victim was not a local resident. She did not elaborate.
According to the spokeswoman, the victim, who is about 50 years old, had been keeping in contact with the suspect since August on an instant messaging (IM) app. The suspect told the victim that he was working in a casino in Macau.
