A 56-year-old local woman was admitted to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre yesterday for outpatient treatment after being hit by a window that fell from a residential building in Zape, according to a statement by the Fire Services Bureau (CB).
The statement released at about 10 a.m. yesterday said that the female victim who passed by a residential building on Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues sustained cuts on her elbow from the broken window.
Firefighters and Public Security Police (PSP) officers who had rushed to the scene told reporters that the window measuring 0.5 metres by 0.6 metres was believed to have been in disrepair and that it crashed down from the building when the owner of a flat on the 16th floor opened it.
The CB statement noted that the victim remained conscious when she was rushed to the public hospital.
