The Pharmaceutical Supervision and Administration Bureau (ISAF) said in a statement yesterday that its new service centre located in Hengqin officially came into operation yesterday.
The service centre is located in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau, providing consultation for enterprises interested in applying for the registration of Macau proprietary traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and conducting research on theoretical, technical, policy and legal issues related to traditional Chinese medicine evaluation, and providing technical guidance and policy consultation support for the public service platform of the industrial park.
National Medical Products Administration Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation (Office of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs) Director Qin Xiaoling said at yesterday’s launch ceremony that the department will continue to provide technical support for the development of drug regulatory capacity in Macau, according to the statement.
ISAF Director Choi Peng Cheong said that by launching the service centre, the bureau can “go” more directly to the mainland and provide consulting services to mainland enterprises before the registration process of proprietary traditional Chinese medicines, so as to promote the registration and listing of more proprietary traditional Chinese medicines in Macau and help the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, according to the statement.
