Melco Resorts & Entertainment is presenting the first solo art exhibition in Macau by world-renowned contemporary artist Mr Doodle* at City of Dreams (COD) in Cotai.

Titled “Mr Doodle First Exhibition in Macao”, the exhibition is hosted in support of the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023” and features four installations and 24 brand new original artworks.

According to a recent statement from the integrated resort operator, the installations comprise the Doodle Showroom, which measures 52 metres by 20 metres and adorns The Showroom’s façade with Mr Doodle’s signature “doodling spaghetti”; the immersive Doodle Hall located at COD’s Main Portal; the LOVE WALL, which is a large wall covered with the artist’s signature patterns on COD’s Level 1; and the Doodle Cube, a multimedia art installation displayed at the centre of the Morpheus’ lobby.

The statement noted that the English artist is one of the most celebrated contemporary artists and is known for creating artworks characterised by intricate black and white lines and patterns that “give everyday objects a lively touch, [and] his works have been exhibited in major galleries around the globe”.

The statement added that Art Macao’s theme is “The Statistics of Fortune” and Mr Doodle has created a colour pattern showcasing his talents and evolution as an artist. The welcoming of a newborn baby is reflected in Mr Doodle’s use of colour in his artworks, which the statement said resemble flowers, clouds, fish and birds.

Mr Doodle is slated to visit Macau to showcase live creations in front of an audience on September 12.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment Board Director Clarence Chung Yuk Man was quoted in the statement as saying the integrated resort operator is “thrilled to collaborate with Mr Doodle to hold the debut of his first exhibition in Macau at City of Dreams with four world premiere art installations, introducing more selections of art works to visitors and locals”.

The exhibition runs through October 15, with more details available on https://www.cityofdreamsmacau.com/en
