The Judiciary Police (PJ) are warning residents of a new scam message where criminals threaten residents with text messages falsely claiming that the recipients have been implicated in a fraud case and are required to click on the provided link to download an unknown program, otherwise, they will be executed by shooting, according to a PJ statement on Friday.
The statement urged residents to increase vigilance against such intimidating text messages, and refrain from believing the contents of these messages, avoiding clicking on any links, and refrain from downloading unknown applications to prevent criminals from illegally accessing personal, communication, or financial information through malicious programs.
In the event that individuals suspect they may have fallen victim to fraud, they are advised to immediately contact the Fraud Prevention Hotline on 8800 7777 or the emergency hotline on 993 to seek assistance from the Judiciary Police.
