The first batch of four medical practitioners from Macau have completed their professional registration and received their respective practice certificates in the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on Friday, so that they can now work at the zone’s medical institutions.
The regulations concerning work permits for medical practitioners from Macau in the zone aim to further facilitate their cross-border work, expand employment opportunities for Macau residents and promote the appropriately diversified development of Macau’s economy.
Fong Fong Tan, deputy director of the zone’s Livelihood Affairs Bureau, said that with the development of various industries in Hengqin, the health sector was rapidly expanding in the zone. The issuance of the first batch of practice certificates would encourage medical professionals from Macau to develop their careers in Hengqin, Fong said, adding that that more physicians from Macau were welcome to work in Hengqin “to make significant contributions in the future”.
