Macau was granted the “M&C Asia Stella Awards – Best Convention City (Asia) 2023” by Meetings & Conventions (M&C) Asia yesterday, according to a Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) statement.
M&C Asia is a prestigious MICE magazine in Asia, which grants its M&C Asia Stella Awards every year to honour the best of the MICE industry, including industry professionals, event organisers and practitioners, the statement said.
The awards, widely considered to be one of the most credible MICE awards in the Asia Pacific region, according to the statement, covers 29 awards across six categories including Destination Management Company, Meeting Hotel, and Convention Centre, the statement noted.
M&C Asia noted that Macau’s MICE sector has made concerted efforts to provide an excellent conference experience for event participants with outstanding environmental equipment and services.
According to the statement, Macau has world-class MICE resources, comprising MICE venues spanning upwards of 240,000 square metres, 40,000 hotel rooms, as well as constantly-improving supporting facilities and abundant experience in holding MICE events, which can accommodate dozens of people or even 10,000 people for conferences and exhibitions of different sizes and of various types.
The statement noted that in the first quarter of this year, 208 MICE events, including 196 conferences, 10 exhibitions, and two award-giving events were held in Macau, attracting nearly 200,000 participants.
