Since its soft opening on Wednesday, Raffles at Galaxy Macau in Cotai has logged an occupancy rate of nearly 100 percent, the integrated resort operator says.

According to a Wednesday statement by the resort operator, offering approximately 450 luxurious suites, Raffles also includes signature restaurants, a bar and a spa. It is slated to have its official opening around the end of this year.

Raffles, which has 136 years of history and “is famed around the world for its personalised service, time-honoured traditions, and exceptional attention to detail”, is new to Macau and marks the seventh hospitality brand to be established within the “ever-expanding estate” of Galaxy Macau, the statement noted.

Paying tribute to Galaxy Macau’s brand heritage and symbolism of beauty, good luck, and royalty, the new property, according to the statement, features subtle peacock motifs throughout in the form of a geometric pattern that flows from the beautifully etched glass motifs on the lobby ceilings to the suspended ceilings in the residential suites, thanks to inspiration taken from the luxurious residence of a fictional 14th-century Italian merchant.

Landscaped with 90 trees, 50,000 shrubs and seasonal flowers, the “showstopping” lobby celebrates the beauty of nature with a sustainable design that conserves energy, saves water, and reduces carbon, the statement said.

The opening of the all-suite hotel is expected later in the year when an array of world-class collaborations that reflect the region’s finest culinary and design talents will be available, the statement said, adding that among them, Chef and Sushi Master Masaaki Miyakawa, one of only five Michelin-three-star sushi chefs in Japan, will helm a new signature Sushi-Kappo concept.

In addition, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, which was incepted in Singapore in 1887, also carried on the brand tradition to introduce its iconic Long Bar featuring the design enriched with Macau’s cultures to Galaxy Macau, where guests can enjoy the Raffles signature Singapore Sling alongside a very Macau-apt Million Dollar Cocktail—to be created by a collaboration with noted 50 Best Bars legend, Antonio Lai, according to the statement.
