A 42-year-old local man was caught red-handed last Tuesday taking sneaky videos of two female tourists aged 18 and 20 in the Ruins of St. Paul’s area, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Leong Chi Seng said during a regular press conference on Friday.
According to Leong, the Public Security Police received a report from a family member of the two victims at about 1 p.m. last Tuesday that during their visit to the Ruins of St. Paul’s area, one of the female victims suspected a man, who had been following them, had taken upskirts of her, while the other female victim suspected that the same man had touched her buttocks.
PSP officers who arrived at the scene arrested the suspect who is surnamed Sui, on whose video camera the officers discovered more than 10 “candid” videos of upskirts of different women, of which two were videos of the two victims from the mainland, Leong noted.
Under questioning, the suspect, who told the police he works as a food delivery man, admitted that as he felt excited after exercising, he took upskirts of the two women, Leong said, adding that Sui refused to explain when he began to take sneaky videos and reveal the purpose of the videos.
Sui has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing invasion of privacy charges, according to Leong.
