The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that it has launched a preview of four of its highlighted programmes in the 35th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), themed “Melodic Reconnections” and is slated to be held from September 30 to October 30.
The statement noted that the highlighted programmes are “Opera in Two Acts by Gioachino Rossini The Barber of Seville”; “Tom and Will” and “Legacies” concerts by The King’s Singers; and fado concert AuRora by Gisela João, while more details are available on www.icm.gov.mo/fimm
Moreover, the statement said that various sessions of the “Mobile Music Salon” community activity, themed around The Barber of Seville, will be set up from the end of this month through September that will combine music, programmes and interactive elements.
The sessions will also be hosted to strengthen the festival’s publicity and increase interaction between communities, the statement said. The session in Tap Seac Square will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, while the session at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) Square will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the session at Taipa’s Carmo Fair will be held from September 2-3, while the session in the Leisure Area at Lok Yeung Fa Yuen Building in Fai Chi Kei will be held from September 9-10. The September sessions will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The statement added that the event will be combined with live music performances and thematic hair styling services. Participants will receive discount coupons for ticket purchases for the festival.
