The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) launched a new mobile app called “Enjoy Macao” to aggregate information about local activities, performances, exhibitions, recreative and sports activities, recreational and MICE activities held by the government, local higher education institutions, and the city’s six integrated resorts, according to an IC statement on Friday.

The aggregator app has been launched to make it more convenient for residents and visitors to check information about local activities in one place, the statement said, adding that the app is designed to have a simple and user-friendly interface.

An aggregator is a website or app that collects related items of content and displays them or links to them.

Users can download the app through App Store or Google Play, and they can enable the notifications so that they can receive the latest activity information at once, the statement said.

After downloading the app, the statement said, users can search for nearby activities according to where they happen to be at that moment, and there is a route function where users only need to open the map on the activity page to navigate them to the activity venue.

Meanwhile, users can also search activities according to different function categories, such as parent-child activities, “date ideas”, friends’ hangouts, solo adventures, self-enhancement or business opportunities, where users can directly buy tickets or sign up on the app, the statement said.

At the same time, the bureau is also launching the “Enjoy Macao” WeChat Mini Programme inserted into WeChat, and its official website at www.enjoyMacao.mo, providing the same function and information, the statement added, so as to combine different platforms to enrich residents and visitors’ exploration and experience about Macau’s colourful culture and rich entertainment.
