Tropical Cyclone “Saola”, which was near the Philippines yesterday, is forecast to move towards the area south of Taiwan in the next few days, and is expected to enter within 800 km of Macau in the early morning of Thursday and 400 km from Macau in the early morning of Friday, according to a Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) statement yesterday.

As Tropical Cyclone “Haikui”in the Northwest Pacific is currently moving towards the East China Sea, it might interact with “Saola” later this week, thus there are still uncertainties about the trajectory and the location where “Saola” could make landfall, the SMG statement said.

The local observatory will closely monitor the development of both tropical cyclones, and members of the public are advised to pay attention to the latest weather information released on its official website https://www.smg.gov.mo/en.

This weather map provided by the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) yesterday shows the possible route of Tropical Cyclone “Saola”.
