The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement yesterday that the first “Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area [GBA] Development” will be held from tomorrow through Friday at The Venetian Macao, with around 1,000 attendees from domestic and international political and business sectors invited to join the event.
The statement noted that the two-day event, which will be held in the integrated resort’s (IR) Grand Ballroom on its third floor, themed “Greater Bay Area, Farsighted Strategy, Extensive Exchange, and Great Development”, is jointly hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau governments.
The statement said that the event will discuss the “hot topics” of the domestic and overseas business sectors. It will include a plenary meeting themed “Jointly Building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area to Develop an Open World Economy”, a GBA cities’ promotion conference, and business matching sessions.
The event will also see the launch of four parallel symposia with the themes “Leading the development of Innovation and Technology Industries with Digital Economy”, “Green Finance Sustaining the Development of the Greater Bay Area”, “Aligning with International Economic and Trade Standards to Enhance Market Integration”, and “Innovative Development Path of Cultural Tourism and MICE Industries, Sharing the Cultural Greater Bay Area”, according to the statement.
The “Macao Initiative on Further Promotion of International Business Cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area” will also be launched at the event, while an inauguration ceremony for the China Maritime Arbitration Commission – Greater Bay Area Arbitration Centre (South China Sub-commission) will be held as well, the statement added.
Moreover, the organisers, the statement said, will arrange for attendees to visit the Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, and the “Demonstration Zone of Comprehensive Cooperation Among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau” in Nansha.
