The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a man from Sichuan province on Sunday on suspicion of stealing five gambling chips worth a total of HK$500,000, plus HK$20,000 and 1,500 yuan in cash, from another mainlander, early this month. The suspect has known the victim for more than 10 years. The suspect hooked up with the victim again in Macau in a casino-hotel in Cotai late last month.

PJ spokeswoman Lei Hong Nei announced the case in a special press conference yesterday.

Lei identified the suspect as a 49-year-old surnamed Dai.
