Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Lei Chi Hou announced a case preliminarily classified as a dead body found, in which a 37-year-old local man died after “falling from a height” yesterday.
According to the statement, the Judiciary Police were notified of the death by the Fire Services Bureau (CB) and some residents at around 11:24 a.m. yesterday, saying that a dead man was found lying on the first-floor platform of a residential building on Avenida de Vale das Borboletas in Coloane.
According to the statement, a window on the staircase of a residential building where the man lived, situated above the exact place where the victim was found, had been opened, so the police believe that the victim “fell” from that window.
According to the family of the deceased, in the early hours of yesterday morning, the deceased had left a message on a chat app indicating that he wanted to kill himself, after which the family lost contact with him and they searched for him in vain until the police informed the family members of his death.
Upon examination of the body, the injuries the victim sustained were consistent with a fall from a height, according to the statement, which noted that the exact cause of death has yet to be determined until a forensic examination is carried out.
