The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that it has been preparing to welcome visitors for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, which starts on Friday through October 6, welcoming back the National Day Golden Week holiday since COVID-19 travel restrictions were lifted.
The statement noted that MGTO has sought assistance from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Beijing to release Macau’s travel information for the holiday to mainland visitors and industry operators. An infographic and promotional video titled “Safe Trip in Macao” has been uploaded to MGTO’s website and social media platforms, as well as flyers.
The statement added that visitors can also access https://www.macaotourism.gov.mo for their trip itineraries and familiarise themselves with Macau, while guestroom rate information and visitor arrival figures of every previous day from Saturday to October 7 are available on https://www.dst.gov.mo and http://dataplus.macaotourism.gov.mo respectively.
One can also visit https://poimonitor.macaotourism.gov.mo to check the visitor flows at over 115 local tourist attractions, the statement said, and access the “Real-Time Information Platform of Border Ports” http://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/pspmonitor for real-time border crossing images.
Meanwhile, the 31st Macao International Fireworks Display Contest continues this Sunday (National Day) and on October 7, along with The Fireworks Carnival from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. next to the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre during fireworks evenings. More information is available on https://fireworks.macaotourism.gov.mo/, according to the statement.
The statement added that the Macau Grand Prix Museum, which is normally closed on Tuesdays, will be open on October 3.
Other arrangements include MGTO sending letters to industry operators to raise their awareness of different aspects, stepping up cross-departmental inspections and supervision of different ports of entry, and maintaining close communication with mainland tourism authorities, according to the statement. MGTO will also increase the human resources at its Tourist Information counters, while the Tourism Hotline (853) 2833 3000 will operate 24-hours as usual.
