CEM recognises 8 companies for their quality & occupational safety

Power utility CEM held yesterday an award ceremony for its “2021/2022 CEM Health, Safety, Environment and Quality” programme at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre, in which eight contractors and suppliers were recognised for their outstanding performance in terms of quality and occupational safety.

Keegan Cheang Kin Lap, director of CEM’s Human Resources and Sustainability Department, said in a speech: “Occupational safety is crucial for the long-term development of enterprises and the safety and health of employees, and sound occupational safety management is an important means for enterprises to improve their competitiveness,” adding that his company “has always attached” great importance to occupational safety by caring about its employees and arranging relevant training courses on a regular basis.

According to Cheang, the programme, which started in 2008, is aimed at encouraging and guiding contractors and suppliers to pay close attention to occupational safety, share operational experience and improve quality levels.

The eight companies comprise China Geomaster Engineering Company Limited, Acceleron Turbo Systems (Hong Kong) Limited, E&E- Empresa de Instalações e Engenharia, Lda, Hitachi Energy Hong Kong Limited, Advanced Power E&M Consultant Engineering Limited, Hang Son Security Company Limited, Southern Hygiene Management Services (Macau) Company Limited, and Zenith Engineering Limited.

During yesterday’s ceremony, a representative of China Geomaster Engineering Company Limited spoke about his company’s experience in the offshore water intake and drainage culvert project for the new seawater cooling system at Coloane Power Station.
