The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area [GBA] Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award Ceremony was held yesterday, during which 14 young local entrepreneurs, including six University of Macau (UM) alumni, received awards in five categories.
The event, which was attended by over 3,000 people online and offline, was organised by the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union. It was held simultaneously at its branch venues in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau, where its branch venue is located in the public university. Prizes were presented to 100 young entrepreneurs altogether who “have made outstanding contributions” to the GBA’s development, according to a statement provided by the public university last night.
Among the six UM alumni prize recipients, Macau E&M Holding Limited and Kento Engineering Co. Ltd. Co-founder Cheong Ka Wo; Cang Shi Commercial Enterprise (Group) Company Limited CEO and H.C. Group (Macau) Limited Chairman Jorge Valente; and BoardWare Information System Limited Executive Director Ng Hong Kei received the “Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award”.
Moreover, Macau Cultural & Creative Integrated Services Centre Company Limited’s Executive Director Ng Wai Kuan won the “Best Cultural Creativity Project”; Melco Resorts & Entertainment Senior Vice President and Altira Macau & Mocha Clubs General Manager Lo King Hang won “Best Commercial Service Provider”; and Ni Jingyun, founder and chairman of Macau Chiherbal Health Technology Company Limited and Aoyeas Health and Science Co. Ltd., won “Best Entrepreneurship Project”.
During his pre-recorded video speech, as summarised by the UM statement, Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong said that the award ceremony aims to recognise the achievements of young entrepreneurs and demonstrates that the market in the GBA is thriving.
He added that the nation’s efforts to promote economic recovery and transformation will bring new business opportunities, new forms and modes of business, as well as create a favourable environment for entrepreneurs.
