The Macau International Airport (MIA) Check-In Centre on the ground-floor of the Macau border checkpoint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) officially started operating yesterday, with the “Express Link” bus service also resuming at that time, according to a statement by Macau International Airport Co. Ltd. (CAM) yesterday.
The statement noted that upon completing the check-in procedures at the centre, those travelling via the HZMB can directly take the Express Link bus service to MIA’s “restricted area”.
The statement said that this aims to meet the growing demand for travel, enhance the connectivity between the Macau International Airport (MIA) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, and improve the efficiency and experience of passengers’ travel.
In the first phase, the statement said, it primarily serves group tours from the mainland and Hong Kong, as well as passengers who travel from Hong Kong by HZMB Bus or those self-driving to the East Car Park of HZMB Macau Port, who will receive a refund for their parking fees when paying the bus fare.
Members of group tours holding valid tickets for a flight departing from Macau’s airport on the same day can take the “Express Link” bus service directly to the restricted area of the local airport after completing the check-in procedures at the HZMB Check-In Centre.
The operating hours of the Check-In Centre currently run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the “Express Link” bus service runs every 45 minutes and will be adjusted according to demand.
In addition, the “Express Link” bus service has set up pick-up points at the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and Taipa Ferry Terminal, making it convenient for passengers to travel from different ports to the restricted area of the local airport, the statement said.
Furthermore, the local airport’s “Service Centres” in Jiangmen and Zhongshan have meanwhile resumed operations, to set up transport connections between the Greater Bay Area as well as to provide travel information for tourists.
