Boats collide near Friendship Bridge, 3 injured

Three men were injured in a collision between a sand barge and a fishing boat in the waters near Friendship Bridge at around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, according to the Macau Customs Service.

Seven crew members were on the fishing boat, of which three men and a woman were taken ashore by a Macau Customs Service speedboat. The remaining three crew members stayed on the vessel. According to the Public Security Police (PSP), the three men were injured and were taken to the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre (CHCSJ).

One of the men suffered a serious head injury, while the other two had slight injuries. The woman on the fishing boat and none of the sand barge’s crew were injured in the collision.
