Traffic jams during Grand Prix 1st day: police

There were traffic jams and “slow moving traffic” on the northern part of the peninsula yesterday morning, the first day of the annual Macau Grand Prix, which ends on Sunday, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, during the 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. rush hour, the traffic was very busy and “slow” in Rua de Francisco Xavier Pereira, Avenida do Coronel Mesquita and Avenida de Sidónio Pais.

There were traffic jams in Avenida do Almirante Lacerda, and near the Barrier Gate checkpoint, according to the statement.
