Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau is presenting its “Macanese Nights” at Café Bela Vista for the second consecutive year, with the dinner event being held from Tuesday to Thursday over three weeks.

A press conference was held at the Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau hotel on Thursday to present details of the event, which spans from today through Thursday, October 17 to 19, and October 24 to 26, with Macanese Chef Antonieta Manhão (aka Chef Neta) and the hotel’s Executive Western Chef, Pedro Miguel Santos do Carmo, partnering for the event.

Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau General Manager Rutger Verschuren said in a speech that “this promotion not only represents our dedication to providing unique and culturally rich experiences to our guests but also reinforces our strong commitment to the preservation of Macau’s culinary heritage”.

The press conference was followed by a live cooking demonstration of the Macanese dish “Galinha Chau Chau Parida” (“Braised Chicken”) by Chef Neta and Chef Pedro. The dish combines chicken with “a medley of fragrant spices”, and is “celebrated for its rich tradition, with an old family recipe that traces its origins to Portuguese beliefs”, according to a statement from the hotel during last week’s press conference.

Moreover, the statement noted that Macanese Nights signifies “the unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting the unique flavours and traditions that define Macau”, with the goal being to highlight and celebrate Macau’s rich culinary heritage.

Customarily, the term “Macanese” denotes Macau’s community of mixed Portuguese and Asian descent, including their culture and cuisine, as well as their diaspora.
