The art exhibition “Revelation To_”, curated by Lam Sio Man and Pal Lok Chok from the local art organisation MyLand Culture, commenced on Friday at Lisboa Gallery in Fisherman’s Wharf, marked with an opening ceremony.
The exhibition has been selected as one of the “Local Curatorial Projects” of Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023. It showcases 10 artworks by seven local and international artists, delving into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) while contemplating human existence.
Lok noted during the opening ceremony that this year marked a breakthrough in AI development, offering both creative possibilities and challenges for the future. “In the midst of advanced technology, daily life remains filled with anxiety. ‘Revelation To_’ aims to explore and respond to AI development in the current era,” Lok said.
According to Lam, the metaphor behind the underscore in the exhibition title represents our era’s complexity and changes. “Through responding to Art Macao’s theme ‘The Statistics of Fortune’, we hope to offer insights into technological computing and numerological calculation, while questioning the revelations that art and artists can bring to the future of humanity,” Lam underlined.
The ceremony was well attended by numerous guests and government officials, who later joined a guided tour led by the curators. The event also featured an experimental music performance by the local music group, thetiredandar, aiming to add an immersive element to the overall experience.
The exhibition is open from noon to 7 p.m., running daily until November 30, with the exception of Mondays when it is closed.
