Registration is now open for the MPU-Bell Centre of English’s training courses for the fourth quarter, according to a statement yesterday from the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU).
The statement noted that a series of English learning courses will be launched for the autumn and winter, including IELTS (International English Language Testing System), General English and Teacher Training courses.
The IELTS training courses will provide lessons at intermediate level and two types of targeted training courses for participants to choose from based on their needs: Productive Skills (writing and speaking) and Receptive Skills (reading and listening), the statement said.
The statement pointed out that the General English (GE) courses provide different levels of English learning for daily life and working purposes, and have a raft of classroom activities. The Teacher Training courses, meanwhile, are designed to enable current or prospective teachers to strengthen “English teaching methods or increase English teaching knowledge in areas of interest either in their spare time or after work”, according to the statement.
The statement added that the centre provides “exclusive courses for learners”, which have small classes to allow full interaction and immediate feedback, and can be taken in-person or online based on the individual or group’s learning needs. Available training courses are English at all levels; IELTS English (preparatory class/6.0+/7.0+); oral skills (including public speaking, conversation, pronunciation); and service industry English (such as for hotel and tourism, catering, transportation), among others, the statement noted.
The courses are included in the Education and Youth Development Bureau’s (DSEDJ) “Continuous Improvement and Development Programme”. The deadline for the first round is on October 18, the second round on November 30, and the third round on January 28 next year. Registration can be done on https://bellcentre.mpu.edu.mo.
