A collective exhibition of calligraphy, painting and seal carving titled “Together We Shine” is being held at the Rui Cunha Foundation gallery until Saturday, showcasing the works by 35 artists from the “Macau Women Calligraphers, Painters and Sculptors Association” (澳門女子書法畫篆刻家協會) and was set up in celebration of both the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holidays.
According to a recent statement from the gallery, the exhibition comprises 43 art pieces created through painting, calligraphy and stamps on Chinese scrolls, fans, and lanterns, commemorating the Mid-Autumn Festival. The statement noted that the exhibition is curated by association president and artist Hong San San Rodrigues.
She was quoted by the statement as saying that the Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns have been used by the association as the theme for the first time. “Using various lantern-shaped paper materials to project the romantic feeling in both calligraphy and painting, meticulous seal carvings are used to show the profound heritage of Chinese culture and the richness of art with infinite charm”, she said.
The gallery is open daily from Mondays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is free. For more information, one can visit https://ruicunha.org/frc/
