Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng said yesterday that the Macau Grand Prix this year attracted visitor arrivals of 120,000 on Saturday alone, 20,000 of which stayed overnight.

Tam made the comments while speaking to reporters as the four-day 63rd Macau Grand Prix wound up yesterday.

“Although there were quite a few alarmingly dangerous parts, [the races] were very thrilling and very appealing, especially being the first year to have two FIA world cup races, so this year’s Grand Prix was very successful,” Tam said, pointing out that tourism arrivals reached 120,000 on Saturday alone.
