The works of renowned Hong Kong photographer and film director Wing Shya never fail to evoke emotion through his timeless and dreamy photographs, and now, for the first time ever, integrated resort operator Galaxy Macau is showcasing his captivating works in the city through an immersive solo exhibition titled “Wing Shya +853 Moments in Macau”.

Housing the Hongkonger’s works is Galaxy Macau’s non-profit art space GalaxyArt, which first opened its doors in 2021. The art space has since had a raft of collaborations with the government and organisations for a wide range of cultural and artistic events, including ongoing exhibitions throughout the year, to enable all to enjoy and appreciate art in its different forms while adding to the integrated resort’s already extensive roster of entertainment options.

Expanding on this, the “Wing Shya +853 Moments in Macau” exhibition showcases Shya’s talent in photography under the curation of longtime collaborator Sean Kunjambu, with GalaxyArt entirely transformed into an immersive experience for visitors, fans of Shya’s works, art lovers and others.

Its three zones come equipped with multimedia effects and engrossing experiences to highlight a selection of Shya’s archive photos shot in Macau, and photos from Shya and Kunjambu’s creation for a Vogue Hong Kong photoshoot at the UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau-listed Mandarin’s House featuring South Korean actor Lee Jung Jae from the critically acclaimed Netflix series “Squid Game”.

Through the exhibition, Galaxy Macau offers everyone an opportunity to peek through Shya’s cinematic lens to explore a world with visual storytelling that juxtaposes vibrant, intense colours of decades past with the tranquil and serene palettes of the present, altogether giving visitors true glimpses of a great artist at work.
