The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement yesterday that the House of Macao Literature has launched an online virtual reality (VR) tour service for the public to use for free.

The house is located between Tap Seac Gallery and Jao Tsung-I Academy. It is part of the architectural complex “89-95G Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida”.

The statement said that this was to facilitate readers from all over the world to understand the spatial layout and exhibits of the House of Macao Literature.

The VR tour service provides a variety of functions and interactive experiences, including “Scenic Interaction” and “Exhibit Interaction”, which are available in Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, and English.

Users can scan the QR Code of the facility through smart devices such as mobile phones or computers in order to visit the virtual exhibition hall of the Cultural Affairs Bureau and to experience its virtual VR tour, the statement said.

Users can enjoy a 360-degree view of the building and its surroundings by simply touching the screen or clicking on the display, the statement said, adding that high-definition images and text descriptions of the exhibits can be viewed while audio and background music will also be played for the public to visit the House of Macao Literature anytime and anywhere.

Further information can be found by contacting 8399 6331 during office hours or visiting www.clm.gov.mo.

Meanwhile, the bureau announced in a separate statement yesterday that a parent-child literary activity will be held on November 25 and December 16, and members of the public can start to register online from today through the Macao One Account mobile app. Participation is free of charge.

According to the statement, instructors will lead participants to explore the fun of reading local children’s literature and teach participants storytelling skills.
