The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will set up its “Macao Pavilion” at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) next year, and calls on local film and TV production entities to participate in the event, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.

FILMART is “a principal trading centre for films and TV series in the world and is an important platform for exploring co-production opportunities in Asia”, according to the statement. Over 7,300 practitioners from 41 countries and regions were gathered for FILMART 2023.

The statement noted that the bureau will arrange the participation of companies to promote the local film and TV production industries, as well as attract non-local film and TV projects to Macau.

The statement said that the application period, which lasts until November 20 and is free of charge, is open to local entities with experience in assisting at least eight non-local film and TV projects shot in Macau between 2013 and this year.

Up to eight companies will be chosen based on previous experience in assisting film and TV projects from foreign countries and regions, i.e., from places other than the mainland, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan, to be produced in Macau; the scale of non-local film and TV projects to be produced in Macau; and the projects they are responsible for, according to the statement.

Application rules and the application form can be found on www.macaucci.gov.mo, while documents can be submitted to SIF@icm.gov.mo.

Enquiries can be made by contacting IC representatives Mr Chong or Mr Kuan on 8399 6256 or 8399 6295 during office hours.
