A tourist coach crashed in Zape yesterday afternoon as the driver “suddenly felt unwell” while driving, the authorities said.
None of the passengers was injured during the accident, which occurred outside the San On Garden residential estate on Rua de Nagasaki at around 1 p.m. yesterday, according to statements from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) and the Public Security Police (PSP).
Firefighters and paramedics arriving at the scene were unable to detect the 57-year-old coach driver’s heartbeat, and he was not breathing. He was rushed to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre for emergency treatment. There were no updates about his condition as of last night.
