The Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said in a statement yesterday that Macau was expected to usher in the first significant temperature drop in the second half of this year, with next Monday’s lowest temperature forecast to drop to about 19 degrees Celsius, and next Tuesday it is predicted to further drop to about 17 degrees Celsius.
The statement attributed the expected fall in temperature to a northeastern monsoon that is affecting Macau.
The observatory predicted that the temperature change will be more obvious next week, and another northeast monsoon is expected to moving southward late next week, when the temperature may further drop.
The observatory pointed out that although the lowest temperature so far this autumn has remained at 20 degrees Celsius or above, the north wind will strengthen next week, and the weather will bring cloudy skies or even rain tomorrow but brief intervals of sunshine on Sunday.
“Since the weather will be cloudy and rainy with relatively strong winds, it will feel much cooler than the actual temperature,” the bureau warned.
The bureau urged the public to pay more attention to weather changes, stay warm and take care of their and their family members’ health.
