The Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) organised the “2023 Macao Cybersecurity Professionals Shenzhen Inspection and Exchange Delegation” on Friday, which sent a delegation of 30 cybersecurity professionals to related institutions in Shenzhen and Dongguan for an inspection and exchange visit, according to a CTT statement on Saturday.
The statement noted that the activity, which was organised in conjunction with the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM), included those in fields such as television and audio broadcasting, and telecommunications networks.
The statement said that the delegation visited the headquarters of Sangfor Technologies Inc. in Shenzhen, and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.’s cybersecurity laboratory at Songshan Lake Base in Dongguan.
The institutions presented the latest developments in cybersecurity and discussed solutions and application cases relevant to “critical infrastructure operators”, according to the statement. Meanwhile, the delegation also exchanged views with the institutions about the current situation, needs, and the development of cybersecurity in Macau.
The statement said that the bureau hopes that the activity can help local cybersecurity professionals gain “a further understanding of the latest cybersecurity technologies and the development of the respective areas of the mainland, strengthen their professional knowledge and the defence capacity of cybersecurity, and promote cooperation between the mainland and Macau in the cultivation of cybersecurity talents”.
