Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Leong Chi Seng said in a regular press conference yesterday that two men from the mainland have been arrested for stealing, after which police discovered that the duo, along with another man from the mainland, came to Macau as visitors to provide commercial sex.
The two suspects are a 38-year-old man surnamed Chen and a 31-year-old man surnamed Ye. The other male sex worker is surnamed Li. The three men told the police they’re jobless.
According to Leong, an employee at a shop on Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (San Ma Lou) reported to the police on Sunday that earlier that day a number of goods, including face masks and hair conditioners, worth 2,100 patacas had been stolen.
After checking the surveillance footage at the scene, the police identified the suspects as Chen and Ye, and saw another man, Li, accompanying the duo. Police officers intercepted Chen and Ye in their hotel room near San Ma Lou. Police later discovered a quantity of condoms and lubricants in their hotel room as well as in Li’s hotel room.
Under questioning, they admitted to stealing goods from the shop. Chen and Li also confessed to offering commercial sex in Macau.
In Cantonese slang, male sex workers are known as "ducks".
Chen and Ye have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing theft charges, according to Leong.
