The Transport Bureau (DSAT) said in a statement yesterday that with the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Taipa-Barra section to open on Friday next week, an “express” public bus route will be operated connecting the Barra Public Transport Interchange, which is located next to the LRT Barra station, with the Barrier Gate border checkpoint.
According to the statement, the new express route, No. 61, will be jointly operated by the city’s two public bus operators, namely TCM and Transmac.
The No. 61 route covers Rua do Almirante Sérgio, the Ponte 16 casino-hotel, the waterfront Avenida Marginal do Lam Mau, the Qingmao checkpoint, before arriving at the Barrier Gate checkpoint.
