Moroccan female hides cocaine in dolls: police

Ho said during the press conference on Friday that the female suspect, aged 32, surnamed Wafa, used Macau as a transit point, attempting to smuggle a total of 105 pellets of cocaine weighing 2,303 grammes worth about 7.6 million patacas by hiding the drugs in two dolls.

Ho noted that PJ officers intercepted Wafa upon her arrival in Macau on a flight from Singapore at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, in whose suitcase the officers discovered the drugs in the two dolls that were filled with cottonwool and had been restitched.

Under questioning, according to Ho, Wafa denied the crime, claiming that at the request of her boyfriend, she received an unknown man’s suitcase and brought it to Macau by air. Wafa insisted that she had not been aware of the drugs in her luggage, insisting that she was supposed to wait for her boyfriend’s instructions in Macau.

Ho said that Hajbi admitted to selling drugs, confessing that he had been promised a commission of US$5,000 (40,250 patacas) to carry the cocaine from Guinea Conakry, a former French colony in West Africa, to Macau via Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur.

Wafa and Hajbi were transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) on Friday and Saturday respectively, facing drug-trafficking charges, according to Ho.
